First of all Many people believe that kitchen worktops are heat resistant, they are not. Many laminated worktops become burnt easily when hot pans and items are placed on to the surface. This causes the surface to blister and burn. Burns are less common on Granite and Quartz worktop, but still leave blemishes to the surface.

The worktop featured in the image across had been badly burnt with a pan, The heat scorched the surface and lifted the laminate completely off the base. Once all the damaged material had been removed, the repair could take place. It is vitally important to remove all the burnt and scorched materials for any repair to be successful.
